Exposition.

Exposition is the action of making public; exposure. During DTS exposition considered the book of Ephesians. The main theme of the book was “UNITY OF THE CHURCH”
When will we say that the Church is united?
This question can be answered by the leading verse during verse of DTS 2015; John 17:21 “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” From this verse of the prayer of Jesus we find five (5) things:
1. Unity of the Church.
2. Unity is about God himself.
3. Unity has the nature in God.
4. Unity is not actions but necessary contents (components) of the Church.
Therefore we have to know the Church and identify ourselves and the position we have in the Church. To know what we have to do in solving the problems facing the Church today.

Ephesians
Chapter 1 and Chapter 3
The key part of this chapter is to identify who we are and what we possess. God knew us before the foundation of the world, he chose us to be holy and blameless before him. He had the church in his mind, he gave us to Christ (the head of the Church). Through Jesus Christ he redeemed us and granted to us the Holy Spirit.
Things to note:
1. God had the Church in his mind before the foundations of the world.
2. The Church has got a future; “New Revised Standard Version Romans 8:18 “I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us.”
3. We are sealed by the Holy Spirit.

Who are we then? New Revised Standard Version 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” We are:-
- Chosen race
- A royal priesthood
- A Holy nation
- God’s own people
Failure to know who we are leads to living the life that is not ours. We all fallen short in sins; but God sent his own son to redeem us.

Chapter 2 and Chapter 4.
Ephesians 2:11-22
Stress on being one in Christ, at the time we were separated from the Christ. But through the blood of Christ we were all made one. We are all held together with the Holy Spirit.
Things to note:-
1. God has only one Church.
2. The Church is built together.
Ephesians 4: 1-6
The Church can be seen in types. The visible Church (Physical Church) and the invisible Church (The Spiritual Church/the Church to come). From Ephesians 4:3 “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” we get the following principles:-
1. Unity of the Church has to be maintained and not to be celebrated.
2. Eager to maintain the Unity.
3. Preach the Unity by Actions in common.
What should we then do after knowing who are we and what the Church is?

Living the new Life and walk in Love.
Ephesians 4:17-32; 5:1-21
If the Church does not live the new life and walk in love, it will open door for sin. When the sin comes into the Church because is the corrosive agent, it causes separation, humiliation and arrogance. It closes the moral authority, causes loss of patience, gifts of God (talents/gifts) for it takes the place of the Holy Spirit and stops the men of God to Pray. Because a man has a freedom of choice, to sin is a choice. Because you choose then you deserve punishment. New Revised Standard Version Revelation 2:1-7 The Message to Ephesus “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands: ?I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance. I know that you cannot tolerate evildoers; you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them to be false. I also know that you are enduring patiently and bearing up for the sake of my name, and that you have not grown weary. But I have this against you that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember then from what you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. Yet this is to your credit: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. Let anyone who has an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. To everyone who conquers, I will give permission to eat from the tree of life that is in the paradise of God.”
